1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing and using Satuni ("Service", "Application", "Platform"), available at app.satuni.ai, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. The Service is operated by Satuni ("we", "us", "our").
2. Description of Service
2.1 Service Overview
Satuni is a Progressive Web Application (PWA) that provides AI-powered personalized children's storybook creation. The Service allows families to create custom stories featuring their family members, pets, and fictional characters as protagonists.
2.2 Key Features
The Service includes: (a) Personalized AI-generated stories in two formats: Real Stories (based on actual events) and Fiction Stories (imaginative adventures); (b) Emotion Stories focused on socio-emotional learning with interactive dialogues; (c) AI-generated illustrations for each story (8 images per story); (d) Audio narration via AI text-to-speech or user recordings (approximately 8-10 minutes when narrated); (e) Family profiles with members, pets, and fictional characters; (f) Diary functionality for documenting daily events; (g) Story library with playback features; (h) Child Lock (PIN-protected mode) for restricted navigation.
3. User Accounts and Eligibility
3.1 Age Requirements
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Minors may use the Service only with permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
3.2 Account Registration
Account creation and authentication are managed through Clerk (https://clerk.com). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
3.3 Family Organizations
Users can belong to multiple family organizations. Family members can invite others through Clerk invitation links. Users with admin role have the right to remove members from the organization.
4. Subscription Plans and Pricing
4.1 Monthly Subscriptions
Mini (€9.90/month): 4 stories, 2 voice profiles, basic stories only. Basic (€14.90/month): 8 stories, 2 voice profiles, includes emotion stories. Pro (€99.90/month): 30 stories, 10 voice profiles, includes emotion stories and hardcover book discount.
4.2 One-Time Credit Purchases
Extra credits can be purchased that do not expire monthly: 1 story (€2.00), 10 stories (€18.00 - buy 9, get 1 free), 40 stories (€60.00 - buy 30, get 10 free), 100 stories (€100.00 - buy 50, get 50 free).
4.3 Credit System
Credits are consumed in the following order: (1) Monthly subscription credits, (2) One-time purchase credits. Monthly subscription credits reset to full amount at the start of each Stripe billing cycle. One-time purchase credits do not reset. One credit equals one complete story including text, images (8 illustrations), and AI voice narration (if selected). User-recorded narrations do not consume additional credits.
5. Payment and Billing
5.1 Payment Processing
All payments are processed through Stripe (https://stripe.com). We do not store your payment information. All prices include applicable VAT.
5.2 Subscription Renewal
Monthly subscriptions renew automatically. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellations take effect at the start of the next billing cycle. Unused monthly credits do not carry over to the next cycle. One-time purchase credits remain available after subscription cancellation.
5.3 Refunds
We do not offer refunds for used services. Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion.
5.4 Price Changes
We reserve the right to modify pricing. Price changes do not affect active subscriptions until their next renewal. Users will be notified of price changes in advance.
6. Content Creation and Use
6.1 AI-Generated Content
The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate stories, images, and audio narration. AI-generated content may vary and we do not guarantee precise or specific outcomes. Content is designed to be child-friendly with age-appropriate language and themes.
6.2 Content Safety and Moderation
AI services (OpenRouter, Google) may block content generation for safety reasons. We reserve the right to ban inappropriate stories. Banned stories remain in the database but are not visible to users. Users will be notified of banned stories.
6.3 User Responsibilities
You are responsible for all information you input (names, descriptions, events, images). You agree not to create inappropriate content. You warrant that you have the right to upload images (e.g., of family members). You must not use the Service to create content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
6.4 Prohibited Uses
You may not: (a) Use the Service for any commercial purposes beyond personal family use; (b) Engage in massive or automated use of the Service; (c) Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or discover source code; (d) Scrape or extract data through automated means; (e) Misuse the API or attempt to bypass usage limitations.
7. Content Ownership and Rights
7.1 User Content Ownership
You own the stories you create through the Service. You may share, print, or use your stories commercially. You may delete your stories at any time.
7.2 Service Provider Rights
We do not claim ownership of your created content. We reserve the right to use anonymous, aggregated data for service improvement and development. We do not share user stories with third parties except as required to provide the Service.
7.3 Third-Party AI Services
By using the Service, you acknowledge that content generation involves third-party AI services (OpenRouter, OpenAI, Google Gemini, ElevenLabs) which have their own terms of service and may use data according to their policies.
8. Privacy and Data Protection
8.1 Privacy Policy
Our collection, use, and protection of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
8.2 Children's Information
The Service collects information about children only with parental/guardian consent. Family member information (names, birth dates, descriptions) is necessary for Service functionality. Children's images are not shared outside the Service. All family data is private and visible only to family organization members.
8.3 Data Deletion
You may delete all your data at any time. Data deletion is permanent and irreversible. Deletion includes family information, stories, images, audio recordings, and diary entries.
9. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates the following third-party services: Authentication and user management (Clerk), Database (MongoDB), File storage (Supabase Storage), AI text and image generation (OpenRouter, OpenAI, Google Gemini), Text-to-speech (ElevenLabs), Payment processing (Stripe), Analytics (Vercel Analytics). Each third-party service operates under its own terms of service and privacy policy. We are not responsible for third-party service operations or data breaches.
10. Service Availability and Modifications
10.1 Service Availability
We do not guarantee 100% uptime or availability. Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance. We are not liable for damages resulting from service interruptions.
10.2 Service Modifications
We may modify, add, or remove features at any time. Significant changes will be announced to users in advance.
10.3 Service Termination
We may discontinue the Service with 30 days' notice. Users may export their data before service termination.
11. Child Lock Disclaimer
The Child Lock feature is a parental assistance tool that restricts navigation to permitted pages (home, library, story pages). It is not a comprehensive child protection system. Parents and guardians remain responsible for supervising children's use of the Service.
12. Limitation of Liability
12.1 AI-Generated Content
We do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or appropriateness of AI-generated content. Users are responsible for evaluating content suitability for their children.
12.2 Third-Party Services
We are not liable for the actions, failures, or security breaches of third-party services (Clerk, Stripe, OpenRouter, ElevenLabs, Supabase, MongoDB, Vercel).
12.3 Data Loss
While we implement reasonable backup procedures, we are not liable for data loss or corruption.
12.4 Maximum Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
13. Warranty Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Satuni and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any rights of another party; (d) content you create or upload to the Service.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
15.1 Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to conflict of law principles.
15.2 Dispute Resolution
Disputes shall be resolved primarily through good-faith negotiations. If negotiations fail, disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Finland.
16. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this document indicates when these Terms were last revised.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Satuni regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
